Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Catawumpus LLC ("we," "us") handles information in connection with our apps and this website. It describes our current practices, and Section 4 describes how we would handle categories of data we don't use today but may adopt as our products develop.

1. Information our apps collect today

Our apps do not collect, transmit, or store personal information on systems we operate. What you enter is written to a database stored locally on your device by iOS. Wellspring Journal also uses Apple’s CloudKit service for iCloud storage and for content you choose to share through Circles.

As of the date above, our apps include:

• No user accounts, sign-in, or registration.
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.
• No advertising, ad identifiers, or third-party trackers.
• No requests to servers we operate.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

2. Data stored on your device and in iCloud

Content you create is held in local storage on your device. Wellspring Journal uses your iCloud account and Apple’s CloudKit service to store journal content in your private CloudKit database and to make that content available across your devices.

If you create or join a Circle, content added to that Circle is stored in a CloudKit shared database. It is visible to the people who are invited to and accept that Circle. Circle members can add prayers and follow-up notes; some editing and management actions are limited to the person who created the content or manages the Circle. Only put content in a Circle that you intend to share with its members.

iCloud and CloudKit are operated by Apple, tied to your Apple Account rather than to an account with us, and governed by Apple's privacy policy and your iCloud settings. We do not have a dashboard or server that gives us access to your journal or Circle content.

If you have iCloud Backup or encrypted local backups enabled, iOS may include an app's local database in those backups. That is controlled by your device settings, not by our apps.

If you use an iOS system feature such as keyboard dictation, notifications, sharing, or the App Store, that feature is provided by Apple rather than by us, and Apple's terms govern it.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

Wellspring Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. The app reads signed purchase and entitlement information from StoreKit, such as the subscription product and whether access is currently active, so it can unlock Premium features. Apple handles billing, purchase history, subscription management, and refunds.

4. Practices we may adopt

We expect our products to change over time, and some of them may use data in ways the current ones do not. This section describes how we would handle those categories if and when we introduce them. Nothing here means we do these things today — Section 1 describes what we actually do now.

• Accounts. If we offer accounts, we would collect the minimum needed to operate one, such as an email address, and use it to authenticate you and communicate about the service.
• Analytics. If we use analytics or crash reporting, we would use it to understand aggregate usage and fix defects, and would prefer aggregated or de-identified measurement where a product allows it.
• Advertising. If we introduce advertising or work with advertising partners, we would disclose it here and in the App Store privacy details, and would honor applicable opt-out and tracking-permission requirements, including Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt where it applies.
• Payments outside the App Store. If we ever process payments outside the App Store, we would disclose that change and use an established payment processor.
• Service providers. If we use third parties for hosting, email, error reporting, or similar functions, they would be bound to handle information only on our instructions and for the purposes we specify.
• Legal requests. We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the safety of others.

Whenever we introduce one of these, we will update this policy before the change takes effect, revise the date at the top, and describe what changed. Apple also requires our App Store privacy details to reflect an app's actual data practices, so the App Store listing is a second place you can check what a given app does.

5. Children

Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Deleting your data

Deleting an app from your device deletes its local database from that device, but content stored in iCloud may remain available to your other devices. Content you shared to a Circle may also remain available to other Circle members until the Circle owner deletes it or the share ends. You can leave or delete Circles from within Wellspring Journal. Device and iCloud backups may retain earlier copies until those backups are removed or replaced.

7. This website

This site is static — plain pages with no forms, no logins, and no analytics or cookies of our own. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical request data such as IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws including the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, to know whether it has been sold or shared, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We honor these rights. Because we do not currently hold personal information about you, most requests will resolve with us confirming that we have nothing on file. 9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our products and practices change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top and describe the change. Material changes to how we handle personal information will be posted before they take effect. Continuing to use our apps after an update means you accept the revised policy.
